W dużym skrócie: jest to silnik który wykorzystuje fakt zwiększania objętości powietrza przy jego podgrzaniu i zmniejszenia przy schłodzeniu. Opis budowy silnika Stirlinga znalazłem w sieci. Przeczytałem: silnik z puszek po piwie, pomyślałem: coś dla mnie. Do stworzenia silnika użyto ogólnie dostępnych w USA materiałów. A ponieważ tam nie mieszkam, potrzebne było parę przeróbek. Wniosłem też coś od siebie.

Obudowa powstała, jak już wiadomo, z puszek po piwie. Korbowód z wieszaka na ubrania. Wewnątrz głównej komory porusza się tłok zbudowany z bardzo mocno zmodyfikowanej puszki po piwie – w oryginale zastosowano puszkę po niedostępnym u Nas napoju, o dość nietypowej średnicy. Wewnętrzny tłok zsynchronizowany jest z tłokiem zrobionym z balonika dla dzieci (mały, żółty) umieszczonym na kolanku z PCV. Najtrudniejszym zadaniem było znalezienie drutu, na którym porusza się wewnętrzny cylinder. Musiał być cienki, gładki i prosty jak strzała. Udało mi się go znaleźć w parasolu matki. Koło zamachowe tworzą 2 złączone płyty CD. Całość napędzana jest świeczką herbacianą.

I read: engine from beer cans, I thought: something for me. To create the engine I needed some specyfic, USA avaliable only, materials. And since I do not live there, I had to make few alterations. And added also something from myself.

The housing was, as you know, made from beer cans. Crankshaft from clothes hanger. Inside the main chamber a piston from heavely modified beer can is moving – original used can from some exotic drink, with rather unusual diameter. The internal piston synchronized with the small piston made from a children’s baloon (small, yellow) is placed on PVC knee. The most difficult task was to find the wire, which is running at an internal cylinder. He had to be thin, smooth and straight as bolt. I managed to find it in my mother’s umbrella. She was not very happy. Flywheel is created from 2 CDs. The whole is driven by a tea-candle.
